With over 25 years of expertise in stress resilience, environmental biology, and agricultural and pesticide-related education and research, I bring a wealth of knowledge to my role as the Chief Operating Officer of Mukunda AgriBiotech Inc. Since 2018, my primary focus has been on introducing climate resilience into contemporary plant populations to address the ongoing climate crisis.
My pivotal contributions include leading efforts in characterizing tryptophan metabolism (indoleamine pathway) across various plant species. I delved into understanding the regulatory signals that modulate stress mitigation, leading to the discovery of previously understudied compounds that stimulate stress mitigation and enhance stress tolerance. Collaborating with the distinguished GRIPP team under Dr. Saxena at the University of Guelph, I continue to contribute to investigating the biochemical and molecular mechanisms of indoleamines, exploring their diverse functions and interactions with other signaling networks in plant adaptations to biotic and abiotic stresses.
My academic journey includes postdoctoral work on pesticide resistance management and postgraduate studies on the effects of low-dose exposures of insecticides on insects at different ecological levels. This foundational work laid the groundwork for ongoing programs, with my research focusing on advancing insecticide suppression in both laboratory and field settings. I have a track record of successful project completion, supported by extensive publication and presentation experience.
My tenure at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada in Summerland, BC, as a postdoctoral fellow, involved testing suppression techniques and products on the Spotted Wing Drosophila (SWD). Notably, I made significant advancements in this field by developing and confirming a new pesticide blend. This experience honed my skills in environmental biology, research on insecticide toxicity, understanding insecticide registration processes, and proficiency in data analysis and research troubleshooting. The goal was to develop innovative pesticide strategies with minimal environmental impact.
Having worked with AAFC and pursued graduate studies, I gained exposure to regulatory processes, guidelines, and requirements related to pesticides in Canada. This comprehensive understanding is a crucial skill set, particularly in navigating the complexities of discovering blends.
As an ambitious and detail-focused undergraduate in Computer Engineering at York University, I bring a wealth of diverse skills and experiences to Mukunda AgriBiotech Inc. My prior role as an intern Business Analyst at TheAppLabb provided me with the opportunity to lead impactful meeting facilitation, conduct strategic research and analysis, and play a pivotal role in effective project management.
My hands-on involvement in both collaborative and individual projects, including the development of a "Decimal-to-Binary Converter" and a "Virtual Shopping Cart," has effectively demonstrated my problem-solving abilities and troubleshooting skills. I have excelled in competitive environments, securing 3rd place in the York Engineering Competition 2019 and reaching the semi-finals in UNHack 2020. Proficient in tools such as Figma, Confluence, MS Office Suite, JIRA, Slack, and more, I bring a comprehensive skill set to the table.
My programming proficiency spans Java, Python, MATLAB, and SQL, and I am well-versed in operating systems like Mac OS, Windows, and Linux. In addition to my professional experiences, I have received recognition for my academic achievements, including The Gordon and Agnes (Twambley) Brash Award in Engineering for academic excellence and the HSBC Scholarship for achieving excellence in secondary school academics.
I am enthusiastic about applying my expertise to contribute to Mukunda AgriBiotech and leveraging my skills for the company's success.
Drawing from more than two decades of experience in the pharmaceutical field and a profound interest in pharmacognosy, I am fervently dedicated to integrating climate resilience into medicinal plants cultivated in unconventional locations, all while maintaining the integrity of the desired molecules. My professional journey has involved collaboration with industry, academia, and government, spanning various pharmacy-related programs, including my recent involvement in the retail pharmacy sector. In my role at Mukunda AgriBiotech, I am responsible for overseeing both the technical and marketing aspects of medicinal plant production systems.
